Whether or not you plucked too much in the 90s or maybe you are simply keen with Solange Knowles‘sCara and Delevingne‘s impressive eyebrows, there’s a solution for you – microblading. However, you are most likely thinking twice hearing all of the terrible testimonies about microblading that has gone wrong. While there are those who are unfortunate, those who haven’t taken some extra caution, microblading is generally safe if, and only if the procedure had been done by the trained and the licensed.
Microblading Procedure
Still, microblading is a relatively new beauty concept that’s circling the media. It can be hard to know what’s normal and what’s not and whether you’d even qualify as a candidate for the procedure. We checked in with brow experts Veronika Dmitriyeva, Mary Torres, Narissa Matheney, and Naomi Sinead (a.k.a. the “Brow Whisperer”), plus dermatologist Heidi Prather, M.D., to help set the record straight about what to expect if you’re considering microblading.
Nevertheless, microblading is a new beauty approach, thus it is difficult to distinguish what appears to be normal and what appears to be NOT normal. And there’s the question if you can get microblading without any worries. The Greatist blog is so helpful that they checked with the experts in eyebrows – from microblading experts to seasoned dermatologists. Let’s take a look at what they have to say.
How microblading work?
Microblading technology allows technicians to deposit pigments directly into the eyebrows using small blades to make small hair-like incisions into the dermal layer of the skin. Consequently, the eyebrows will naturally lose colour over time and will eventually need touch ups. Microblading is a semi-permanent process, so that the result will last from 1 to 3 years. This is different from the case of a tattoo artist, who injects ink under the dermis to make the result permanent.
To achieve the look you like, a professional microblading technician penetrates the skin by making a tiny puncture where the pigment color is going in. The color will be according to the color your natural eyebrows to create a fuller illusion which darker and well-groomed.
Microblading is great however it is not for everyone
Microblading is best for those who have thin and sparse eyebrows. It can also enhance full eyebrows however the results are better on those who have thin eyebrows. For those suffering from alopecia, microblading is a great way to mask lost eyebrows.
While there are many accounts of people loving microblading, it is not for everyone. If you are prone to keloids or suffering from eczema, this procedure is not for you. This is not also recommended for pregnant and breastfeeding women.
