Siemens has started a battery module mill in Trondheim geared toward the sector.
The mill involves an automatic and digitized manufacturing lineup with eight robot channels with a potential of around 300-megawatt hours (MWh) annually (see strømpriser, the Norwegian word for electricity prices), making 55 battery modules each change to the marine and foreign sector. From simplifying the generation components that are incoming to testing the battery module, then the mill is automated. One battery includes two battery modules, and each module is made up of 28 cells.
“We expect that market to grow considerably in the long run. That’s the reason exactly precisely the reason we’ve spent in the creation of secure and dependable battery alternatives,” explained by the Head of Offshore Solutions in Siemens.
Up to now, Norwegian businesses have led the way at the electrification of transport. On account of the choice to put money into battery systems that are marine, fascination with Siemens battery solutions is rising on the industry. “We also find interest in these options beyond Norway. The brand battery mill will consequently also serve a global marketplace” explained by the owner.
“At Trondheim, we’ve established a competency center for electric and hybrid options with years of expertise. This has amazed international direction so much that we’re responsible for the evolution of brand new battery system,” states by the CEO of Siemens AS. Its proximity also supported Siemens to clients from the maritime business and from the coverage offensive because of solutions.
Until today, the market was mostly driven by electrical ferries, however, Siemens sees the capacity for fishing boats, workboats for both aquaculture and overseas plants. The mill obtained its first purchase to build batteries for use. A trading system of this drilling firm Northern Drilling, west Mira, is going to be the drilling rig on earth to be worked using a battery powered system that is contemporary. For a drilling rig, it’s projected that gas consumption can be reduced by a battery option by twelve percent by only twelve percent carbon dioxide emissions by fifteen percent and carbon dioxide emissions.
