Kevin Huyge is the Managing Editor at MediaGlobal and Program Manager for the Development Writers Program. He has done extensive research, reporting and blogging on issues of global development, politics and current affairs. He reported from Iraq as both an embedded and unembedded journalist, worked as a commercial fisherman in Alaska and served as a Marine Corps squad leader in the Persian Gulf War. Kevin earned his BS at the University of Colorado at Boulder and his MS at the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism, with a concentration in Digital Media. Laurent Y. Peter is the Multimedia Producer/Photo Editor at MediaGlobal. He is a travel and editorial photographer. He has also worked internationally in profiling government and corporate initiatives through media driven projects. In addition to his work at MediaGlobal, Laurent is currently running a boutique digital agency based in New York City for custom made new media and multimedia projects. Having worked in over 30 countries, Laurent is creating and building multimedia content for MediaGlobal, both producing and reaching out to content partners to share the stories on the world’s least developed communities. Molly Slothower is the Web Master at MediaGlobal. Molly has worked in communications and fundraising with organizations including the Children’s Defense Fund, International Ventures and Travel, Inc., The Peace and Development Institute, Strey Khmer (Cambodia Women), and The Conflict Resolution Center. She has also worked as an editor for Densmore Ried Publishing Co., and for a Comparative Politics textbook published by Pearson Prentice Hall. She has studied in Cambodia, Thailand, India, and Brazil. Molly earned a B.A. with honors from Earlham College, in Politics and International Studies.
Charmaine N. Crabaugh is a Business Development Director at MediaGlobal. With a background spanning biological research, intellectual property litigation support, and global health, Charmaine draws on experience ranging from field research and lab analysis, to project management in a corporate legal setting, and implementation of grants activities and health education programming for a clinic in rural Sierra Leone. Through the Council of Women World Leaders, Charmaine has most recently held fellowships with the World Health Organization and in the UN with the Office of the Special Representative of the Secretary-General on Sexual Violence in Armed Conflict. Charmaine holds an MPH in health policy and management from Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health, and a BA in Biology from Oberlin College.
Gary Goldman is the Business Development Director at MediaGlobal. An aspiring social entrepreneur with experience within the world of development and business, Gary served as the President of the UNICEF club at his alma mater and interned at the local United Nations Association. He is the co-founder and Editor-in-Chief of Daily BR!NK, the award-winning online publication featuring exceptional game-changers from all ages and industries, where he oversees a team of over thirty volunteers. His work has been published on NextBillion and the United Nations Association’s World Bulletin.
Louise de Hemptinne is a photographer and videographer at MediaGlobal. She graduated from IHECS (Brussels) with a BA in applied communication. During her studies she did an Erasmus exchange for six months in Spain. Her love for travel and discovering other cultures has led her to Africa, Asia, Australia, as well as South and Central America. She is interested in the impact of visual media on society and its relation to economic development, environment, and philanthropically-minded venture. La Shawn Pagán is a Senior Correspondent at MediaGlobal. Born in New York and raised in Puerto Rico, she studied at the John Jay College of Criminal Justice, obtaining a bachelor’s degree in Criminology and an associate’s degree in Criminal Justice. After a decade in the legal field, she transitioned to writing, where her true passion lies. She has held a column in English at an independent artist’s website based in Marseilles, France, and her published work can be read in the Female Marines Gazette, El Correo de Queens/The Queens Courier, the Home Reporter & Spectator News, El Barrio News, and AOL Latino. La Shawn enjoys learning about different cultures, languages and people. After spending years abroad (the Caribbean and the Netherlands being among her favorites) she returned to New York City.
